SOUTHEND United skipper John White is urging the club’s fans to play their part in the push for promotion.

Blues are expected to have more than 1,000 supporters roaring them on at the Pirelli Stadium on Sunday.

And White is keen for them to get right behind the team.

“I have been so impressed with our fans this season and at our away games they have been absolutely fantastic,” said the reliable right-back.

“They have been very loud and proud wherever we’ve been and it certainly makes a huge difference to the players.

“I’m sure the fans will be at Burton in big numbers again on Sunday and it would be great to have them making as much noise as they can to give us the best possible chance to go and win the game.”

Sunday’s clash at Burton will also be White’s first ever experience of the play-offs.

But he will go in to the game ignoring what Brewers boss Gary Rowett said following the clash between the two teams at Roots Hall last weekend.

“I read their manager saying his full strength team would run all over us but we’re taking no notice of that,” said White.

“The game could go either way and we obviously know a bit about each other from the league games we’ve had.

“We’re just all really looking forward to the game and making sure we finish off what has been a very good season in the right way.”
