YOUTH football teams came from across the county to take part in Canvey Island FCs annual youth tournament.
More than 2,500 people came to watch the event and more than 500 youngsters competed at the Park Lane club’s popular tournament on Saturday, with more than 100 teams ranging from under-6s to under-12s coming to the island to try and win their age group.

Teams including Leighwood United, from Rayleigh, Great Danes, from Brentwood, Colebrook Royals, from Chigwell, and Tiger White Socks, from Rochford joined local teams.
The winners in the Under-9s category were Upminster Park Royals, U-10s – Buckhurst Hill Royals, U-11s – FITC Academy, and Colebrook Royals FC won the U-12 girls event.
