BRINN Bevan is desperate to help Great Britain’s junior team secure their fourth successive title at the European Championships.

Britain have come out on top on the last three occasions.

And Bevan, who lives in Thundersley, is keen to keep the run going.

“The juniors are going into the competition as three times European team and pommel horse champions, so we’re going out to retain the titles and fingers crossed we can,” said the 16-year-old, who trains at the South Essex Gymnastics Club in Basildon.

“The Europeans is a big competition for juniors because it only happens every two years.

“But the team is so much stronger than two years ago and that shows how much we have improved.”

Bevan believes Russia will be Britain’s biggest rivals this time around.

But he is hoping team spirit will help GB secure gold again.

“The team have trained together for the past two months and we are like a family now because we know each other inside out,” said Bevan.

“We know when something is wrong and we do our best to pick each other up again.

“It’s come around so fast and I can’t wait to see what happens.”
