FREDDY Eastwood will still be playing for Southend United next season – in the under 13s.
The son of the former Shrimpers’ first team star has just signed a two-year deal to remain with the club.
And Eastwood senior hopes the 12-year-old, pictured, can go on to follow in his foot-steps.
“He’s got talent and has scored a lot of goals so it would be great if he could go on to play in the first team one day,” said Eastwood.
“He needs to keep on working hard, but I’ll be helping him and backing him all I can and I doubt there’s a 12-year-old anywhere else who has watched quite as many games as he has.”
