C&K Basildon Ladies were joined by England and West Ham legend Jimmy Greaves at their annual prize giving ceremony.
The successful ladies football team – who will be competing in the newly restructured FA Women’s Premier League next season – welcomed Greaves to the Selex Sport & Leisure Club last Friday for the special event.
He and his son Danny (a former Southend United player) handed the awards to the players with the club’s Honorary President Baroness Angela Smith.
The team celebrated a successful season, although they narrowly missed out on honours, finishing one point off the top of the table in the South Eastern Combination League and losing the League Cup final in the dying seconds.
