FORMER Southend United defender Bilel Mohsni has made his international debut for Tunisia.

Mohsni, who made 80 appearances for Blues before joining Glasgow Rangers at the start of last season, played the full 90 minutes as the North Africans saw off South Korea 1-0 in Seoul And Mohsni was delighted to come out on top against a team who will soon be heading off to the World Cup in Brazil.

“It was a fantastic experience to make my debut for Tunisia,” said Mohsni. “I have enjoyed training with the squad in the last few days but to make my debut was incredible and it was a great result for Tunisia in South Korea.

“I have enjoyed a positive season at Rangers and this caps a good campaign for me.”

Meanwhile, another former Southend United player winning international honours is Cauley Woodrow who scored his second goal for England Under-20s at the Toulon tournament in France.

Woodrow, who made 21 appearances scoring twice for Blues on loan from Fulham last season, netted in the Young Lions 1-1 draw with Colombia which secured them a place in the third-fourth place play-off.

The Fulham youngster started yesterday’s play-off game against Portugal too and had a couple of good chances to net his third goal of the tournament.

But the chances went begging and a defensive mix up from England allowed Portugal to seal a 1-0 win with a second half goal from Ricardo Horta.
