CONCORD Rangers will be looking to identify stars of the future at their upcoming youth team trials day.

The Beachboys are looking for talented youngsters to join their under-10s, 11s, 12s, 14s, 15s, and 18s when the trials are held on Saturday.

After a successful season, in which Concord finished ninth in the Conference South and won the Essex Senior Cup, the club announced they would be developing a football academy, which would open at the start of the 2015/16 season.

Cliff Larkin, the Concord youth section chairman, said this is the perfect opportunity for young stars to show their football ability.

“Our first team are now competing to be promoted into the professional game and are now one of the top ranked clubs in Essex,” he said.

“The new Academy will offer some brilliant opportunities for players to progress into our first team set-up and maybe go on to have a successful career in the game.

“But we a close-knit club and a big part of the community, so we would really like to get as many children along on our trial day to see if they want to be a part of the exciting project here.”

The under-10s, 11s,12s and 15s trials will begin at 11.30am whilst the under-14s and under-18s will begin at 10.30am at the Post Office Sports and Social Club, in Gardiners Close, Basildon.

The under-14s through to the under-18s all play at Southend Division A and Eastern Junior Alliance standard.
