HUNDREDS of boxing fans turned out to see an evening of top action – all in aid of charity.
Organised by boxing promoter Danny Morgan, around 500 people came to support the Indee Rose Trust, with Southend heavyweight Mike Bourne the main attraction on a night that featured 20 bouts.
Junior boxers and women fights also drew a lot of interest at the fight night, at Concord Rangers’ Aspect Arena.
‘Iron’ Mike Bourne ended the night with a powerful performance against rival Dan Lovett, although plenty of exciting fighters showed their promise.

Boxers from Benfleet and Chelmsford were also very popular, with wins for Alan ‘Chopper’ Hopkins, Lee Thorne, Mark Collins and Karen Giles amongst the victors on the night.
Concord club announcer Toby Wicks was also in action, winning his bout against David Futter in a confident manner.

“It was a great night for all involved,” said Morgan, who runs the Ifitness Gym on Canvey. “There was some very impressive boxing on show, including some strong performance from fighters at Ifitness which was very pleasing.
“We are still counting how much money was raised but it was such a success we would consider doing it again year after year.
“I would like to thank the coaches, Craig Salter, Glen Roberts and Georgie Smith on the night for their help.”
