SOUTHEND United have arrived in the south of Spain for their six day training camp.
But Blues boss Phil Brown has not opted to not take any trialists on the trip, with Braintree Town striker Dan Holman now expected to sign for another Conference club.
“Dan came in for a couple of days with us but it was quite short-lived in the end,” confirmed Brown.
“Before he came in he said he had interest from a Conference club and I think the publicity he got from being with us probably alerted a few other clubs.
“He’s decided to take up an offer now and we wish him all the best.”
Brown is therefore focusing on his contracted players and putting them through their paces in Spain.
“Out here we will be training here two, three or four times a day,” said the Shrimpers chief.
“It will be excellent for us and I’m sure we will soon start to see the benefits of the work we’re doing.
“We’ve also brought along a couple of the youngsters and Jack Bridge has been pulling up trees in training so far.”
