ROBIN Womack continued his fine season with more success at the German Open.

The Southend-based 43-yearold won gold in both the discus and the shot put.

And he was thrilled to again come out on top.

“I went out there to hang on to the gold medals I won in 2012 and that’s exactly what I did,”

said Womack.

“It was really pleasing and I feel like I’m throwing really well this year.

“The selections for the European Championships will be made will in late July and I’m currently second in Europe for both the shot and the discus so hope to be picked.”

Womack, who won bronze in the shot at the 2012 Paralympics in London, claimed gold in the shot in Germany with 9.95 metres and then also came out on top in discus with 30.90m.
