FITZWIMARC Badminton Club have staged their own junior tournament.

There were enough girl entries in the under-11 group to have a group of their own and Charlotte Patterson was the overall winner with five straight victories.

The runner-up was Chloe Baker and the game between the two girls was an extremely tight battle with the final score 11-8 to Charlotte.

The boys’ under-11s had three groups with the winner from each going through to play-off for first, second and third which went to Matthew Pearson, George Manthorp and Adam Stokes.

In the under-11 doubles, many of the singles players paired up and that resulted in two groups.

First place went to Charlotte Patterson and George Manthorp, second place to brothers Matthew and Isaac Pearson, third was Thomas Kirby and Dillon Young and fourth was Harry Lilliot and Oliver Staines.

The under-13 singles had two groups with the same format of winners playing off for the top few places.

Yet again there were some very tight games resulting in a very tight final which ended in a 15-14 victory to Thomas Kirby against Shiv Shenoy.

In third place was Nick Campen while Ben Jordan took fourth.

In the under-15 age group there was an elite group and two mixed groups.

The group overall winner was Daniel Buttifant and runner up was his twin Ashley Buttifant.

The winner of under-15 group two Greg Roffey beat winner of group three Luke Hayton in the play-off for first.

Third place went to Jordan Walpole and Visahl Shenoy took fourth.

The under-15 elite doubles winners were Daniel and Ashley Buttifant and runners up were Casey Jenkins and Jamie Buttifant.

The under-15 doubles group was won thanks to four straight wins from Jordan Walpole and Greg Roffey. The runners up were brothers Vishal and Shiv Shenoy.
