TEENAGE motocross rider Dylan Woodcock’s blossoming career has received a massive boost by an invite to represent Britain.

The 14-year-old from Hadleigh will take on other young stars from around the globe at the Junior World Championships in Belgium this weekend.

Woodcock will race for Team Green Kawasaki and was invited by team sponsor Monster to compete.

And the news comes after he got the chance to ride in the Monster Cup in Las Vegas on October 18.

“This is like a dream come true”, said Woodcock. “Just the chance to ride for Team Green is awesome, but to have all of these extra opportunities presented to me is unbelievable.

“I really hope I can prove to Kawasaki and everyone watching that I am capable of running near the front at these events. I can’t wait!”

Woodcock warmed up for his trip to Belgium with second place overall on his Kawasaki KX85 in the big wheeled class at Canada Heights in Kent after four motos.

He went into the round with a 57-point lead in the championship but had his victory hopes at Canada Heights hit by a time penalty for going too fast.

“I really like Canada Heights and I’m a bit disappointed not to win but I have extended my points lead which is good,” added Woodcock.

“It was good to race against Chris Hammel and compare my speed because he’s been doing the European 85cc championship and even won races, so to run with him was good.

“If it wasn’t for the timed penalty I would’ve won the overall but I showed in the last race that I can run with the top guys in Europe so I’m really looking forward to the World championship.”
