Basildon United, Bowers & Pitsea and Hullbridge Sports all kick off their Essex Senior League campaigns on home soil tomorrow.

The Bees host Barking and manager Colin Cook is hoping some of his star strikers will be returning from injury at the TLM Stadium and has been hit by a number of late departures.

Jordan Williams and Tim Cox face late fitness tests, although both are rated unlikely to feature but goalkeeper Steve Brown, captain Terry Martin and midfielder Dave Reynolds have all left the club.

Bowers will face a tough test against last season’s fourth placed team Tower Hamlets at the Len Salmon Stadium.

New manager Rob Small has brought in a host of new players, including ex-Witham Town hotshot Rob Whitnell – who has been in goal scoring form in pre-season.

Hullbridge meanwhile will be looking to build on an impressive 2013/14 season, in which they recorded a record points total and won the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy. They take on Sawbridgeworth Town at Lower Road.

Southend Manor are the only side on the road on the opening weekend. They visit FC Romania, hoping to improve upon last season’s 19th place finish.
