SOUTHEND pair Richard McEvoy and Matthew Southgate had solid performances at the Norwegian Challenge on the PGA Challenge Tour.
McEvoy finished 11th on eight-under par, seven shots off the winner, Benjamin Herbert of France.
The Thorpe Hall professional had a magnificent second round where he shot 66 after an opening round of 71. He could not quite find that form again on the final two days, shooting 73 and 71.
McEvoy’s weekend activities were enough to earn him a purse of 3,062 euros.
Southgate, who is also based out of Thorpe Hall, finished in tied 23rd place, two shots back on McEvoy, on six-under par.
He started the competition strongly with a round of 67, followed by scores of 71, 73 and 71 again.
He picked up a purse of 1.540 euros.
