BASILDON: Maureen Parkin has certainly been the star of Basildon so far this year and she continued that fine form by celebrating a hole in one during a match at Stock Brook Manor in one of the club’s Harris Bowl matches.
Following on from that, she has continued her run of good form when she recorded a nett 65 in the latest medal competition.
Having played seven under her handicap, which earned her a 2.4 cut in her handicap, she was then given a further two shots off for the exceptional score, resulting in her having a total handicap reduction of 4.4. In the club's Rabbits and Spoons competition, Judy Long, with 37 points, Julia Castle with 32 and Jen Frizzell with 28 points came first, second and third respectively.
The Rabbits Cup was won by Maureen Parkin.
