BARRY Corr played a key part in Southend United’s win against Stevenage on Saturday, but he almost didn’t start the game.
Corr made both of Blues’ goals in the 2-0 triumph.
However, boss Phil Brown was considering resting the Irishman ahead of the game at Roots Hall.
“We actually had a team-talk on Thursday and spoke about playing Barry or not,” revealed Brown.
“We went through if we needed to have the focus of a physical striker who can play in these types of games or whether we rest him and go with Barney (Lee Barnard) or one of the young ones.
“But really Barry is a big game player and he showed that. He had his wars during the game and I thought he was different class for us.”
