IT WAS huge for us to get our first win of the season at the weekend.

I’m not going to lie, losing the first two games was extremely disappointing and of course it led to a few questions being asked.

However, I didn’t think the level of the performances had been too bad and we just had to make sure we looked after the ball far better, which is what we did against Dings Crusaders at the weekend.

That resulted in us scoring eight tries and securing a 52-14 which has given us all a huge confidence boost.

We were capable of doing the same against both Redruth and Shelford but I think the belief had always been there.

We have a talented and exciting group at the club and we all knew it was just a matter of time before things started to go our way.

It was pleasing and we got the rewards for sticking to the game plan (director of rugby) Chris Green had set out for us.

We also had scrum-half Rhys Powell coming back to the club and in to the starting line-up and he’s another experienced head for the team.

It was also very pleasing that the tries were shared around the team.

But we now want to build on the win and that starts this weekend when we go to Henley.

They are a strong side at this level and they’ve made a good start this season, winning all three of their matches so far.

They are already up towards the top so it’s a good test for us but it’s also one that it going to tell us just where we are this moment in time.

We’re certainly looking forward to the challenge though and I definitely am.

I’m still love playing and I wouldn’t be here playing if I didn’t.

Everyone is looking after me and now we want to get our season going by picking up more points to move up the table.
