JESSICA Judd began her winter season by helping Chelmsford AC to seventh place in the South of England road relays.

The 19-year-old from Canvey clocked the sixth fastest time of 12m 58s around the 3.85km course in Aldershot as she ran the second leg for her team.

Another youngster Katie Solis (14m 47s) and Emma Prideaux (14m 39s) then did a good job of maintaining Chelmsford's position in the top 10 on the third and fourth legs.

Chelmsford's second team of Joceline Monteiro, Sally Mhlanga, Hayley Pegg and Christy Dailly finished in 36th place in a race that was comfortably won by the home team Aldershot.
