BLUES boss Phil Brown has made three changes to his starting line-up for tonight’s clash at Newport County despite goalkeeper Daniel Bentley passing on a late fitness test on a knee problem.
The shot-stopper had been rated as 50/50 for the game but has been given the go ahead to continue between the sticks.
Skipper John White also passed a late fitness check to return to the team at right-back while Myles Weston and Barry Corr have both been handed recalls.
As a result, both Lee Barnard and Jack Payne have dropped down on to the bench while David Worrall misses out altogether with an injury which had stopped him training this week.
Southend United: Bentley, White, Thompson, Prosser, Binnom-Williams, Leonard, Atkinson, Deegan, Timlin, Weston, Corr
Subs: Barnard, Hurst, Bolger, Clifford, Coulthirst, Payne & P Smith
