ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Hullbridge Sports will bid to end the only unbeaten record in the Essex Senior League tomorrow when they welcome Barking to Lower Road.

Sports, currently fifth in the division, sit a point below the Londoners but have played three games more than their opponents.

And Mark Bliss’s men are aiming to bounce back from a disappointing fortnight that has seen them lose to table-topping Haringey Borough and conceded a last-minute goal to Tower Hamlets last time out.

New addition Reece Brandon is expected to be back in the squad for the match “We see this as a major test,” said Neil Hunwicks, the club’s media manager. “Mark Bliss and Steve Tapley (coach) have got the boys in a great place and there is a buzz all over the club. We don’t fear anybody at the moment and we are confident in putting up a good performance to keep Hullbridge in contention.”

However, the home grounds men are working overtime to ensure the game goes ahead, after heavy rainfall this week. Any further rain could throw the game into doubt.

Barking did lose to Chelmsford City in the Essex Senior Cup in the week, although it took a penalty shoot-out to separate them from the Conference South side.

A rejuvenated Southend Manor side are aiming to make it four wins in a row when they host Waltham Forest.

Last season’s relegated Ryman North side have seen their form pick up in recent weeks, taking 13 points from the last 15 on offer.

Manor could join a host of other sides on 14 points if they were to win, as they look to climb away from the bottom of the table.

Wayne Seal’s side upset the odds to beat Tower Hamlets on Wednesday, with on-loan Great Wakering Rovers striker Aaron Baldwin netting the winner.

Former Southend United youngster and new Manor skipper Alex Stephenson also impressed.

Bowers & Pitsea travel to bottom-of-the-table Greenhouse London as they look to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow 3-2 defeat against FC Romania.

But they have been hit by a freak injury to goalkeeper Sean Hinton, after he damaged his medial knee ligaments while holidaying in Cape Verde.

Hinton is expected to be ruled out until the new year.

Garron Leatherbarrow is expected to continue in goal although Ross Adams is suspended and skipper Scott Pethers is an injury doubt.

Basildon United visit fellow strugglers Sporting Bengal United.

Craig Gillam welcomes back captain Taylor Sinfield and George Whitby for the match.
