WESTCLIFF host Guernsey in National Three London & SE this weekend looking for their second win of the season.

Second from bottom Westcliff have been beaten in seven of their eight outings since winning promotion from London One North.

But they will be hoping to get back on track against a Guernsey side who sit just one place above them in the table and have triumphed just twice this term.

Westcliff suffered a heart-breaking last gasp 26-24 defeat at CS Rugby 1863 last weekend and will be desperate to make amends tomorrow.

As they attempt to do so, they have no further injuries this week but will be without the unavailable Ben Jones at half back.

First team manager Rick Compton believes he will be a big miss but insists the spirit in the squad is high, despite the indifferent results.

“Although we are still disappointed after last week’s late defeat we remain pleased with the form we showed and hope to take it in to the game against Guernsey,” said Compton.

“The visitors have also made a slow start suffering with a long injury list just like us but they have showed better form in recent weeks as they have been able to reintroduce their overseas players.”

Tomorrow is also annual Pink Sock Day at the club when all Westcliff teams will be playing in pink socks which can be sponsored at £25 a pair with all profits going towards Cancer Research UK.

Further fund raising will take place at the fully subscribed ladies pre match lunch.
