Great Wakering Rovers 2-2 Needham Market
From Burroughs Park
Ryman North
Great Wakering Rovers claimed a battling point against league-leaders Needham Market after recovering from a two-goal deficit.
The in-form Billy Johnson was once again on the scoresheet, netting his fifth goal in sixth matches, before a second from the marauding Max Kent drew the hosts level.
It looked ominous when the visitors took a two-goal lead into the half-time break, with Ryan Crisp opening the scoring after only ten minutes.
Needham netted the second goal after a penalty, which Adam Seal saved superbly, wasn’t cleared in time, allowing Rhys Henry to hit home the loose ball.
But back came Rovers, and Dan Trenkel’s men hit back with Johnson soon after the break with a smart finish.
But Kent ensured back-to-back league draws when a neat move saw him net a deserved equaliser in front of 251 supporters.
