JAKUB Sokolik has extended his loan spell with Southend United until January.
The defender’s initial month long deal from Yeovil Town expires after Saturday’s clash against Northampton Town.
But the centre-back has now agreed to remain at Roots Hall until the New Year, much to the delight of Blues’ assistant manager Dave Penney.
“I think Jakub is loving it here and it’s good news he’s agreed to stay,” said Penney.
“I think he likes what he sees here, he knows what he’s working with in terms of staff and players and I think that’s why he’s chosen to stay.”
Sokolik ended last season on loan with the Shrimpers from Liverpool before opting to join Yeovil Town in the summer.
However, he failed to hold down a regular starting slot with the Glovers and that led to him returning to Roots Hall last month.
But Sokolik has made just two appearances since coming back to the club
