STUART Bingham battled back from the brink to secure his semi-final place in the UK Championship after beating Graeme Dott 6-5.

The Vange man looked set the exit the tournament at York's Barbican Centre, before a superb comeback set up a semi-final clash with Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Bingham started the match slowly and found himself 4-1 down in the first half of the encounter. However, after Dott missed a chance to extend that lead Bingham won frames six and seven, including a break of 108.

But Dott moved to within a frame of victory to leave Bingham on the brink of a quarter-final exit.

But the 38-year-old, who has already won two titles this year, took advantage of a nervous opponent to draw level at 5-5.

And he didn't look back, winning with a break of 103.

He will take on Ronnie O'Sullivan tomorrow in the semi-final and will draw from a winning experience in last year's quarter-finals in York, in which he beat 'The Rocket' 6-4.
