NON-LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Danny Cowley is facing an injury crisis ahead of Concord Rangers’ key clash with rivals Bishop’s Stortford tomorrow.

The Beachboys could travel to Stortford without a number of first-team regulars, including a host of defenders, including Jeremy Walker, Danny Glozier, Jack Lampe and Matt Fry.

Lewis Taaffe, who has been in good recent goal scoring form, and Joe Gardner are also doubts, leaving Cowley looking at the Reserves for options.

“We might have to bring Nicky (Cowley – assistant manager) out of retirement,” he joked. “The problem is our squad is so small that even missing a few players is a crisis so potentially being without so many is a big problem.

“When you play on heavy pitches, players get injured and we have to accept that.

“Stortford have been picking up a few points recently and we are behind in our league programme so we both want to end Christmas on a high.”

A win could leave the Beach Boys glimpsing the play-offs, with as many as four games in hand on sides above them.

Billericay Town travel to Hampton & Richmond Borough in the Ryman Premier Division.

Craig Edwards’ men have been in good recent form, losing only one of the last seven. That, in the main, has been down to the goalscoring exploits of captain Richard Halle and striker Ricky Sappleton and they will fancy this chances of maintaining that run tomorrow.

Hampton have lost seven homes games this term, with only Harrow Borough having lost more.

Town, who released Roman Michael-Percil this week, are expected to have a fully-fit squad, with several players assessed before the game.

Canvey Island will be hoping for some Christmas cheer when they host Kingstonian.

The Gulls won their first home league game in two months last weekend, but will face 11th placed Kingstonian without Jay Curran, Kevin Dobinson and possibly Mike Jones and Rio Bryan-Edwards (ankle) and Dan King (knee).

A win could lift Canvey to 11th if results go their way.
