SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown wants his side to heap more misery on Oxford United this weekend.

The U’s have triumphed in just one of their last six games at the Kassam Stadium.

And Brown is keen to take advantage of that wretched record tomorrow.

“We’re going to a ground where Oxford have been booed off in their last few games,” said the Blues boss.

“As a player or a manager that’s never a nice arena to go in to as a home team so we need to compound that negativity by starting well and getting in front.

“We certainly have the talent in our squad to hurt them and we want and need to get back to winning ways after a few too many draws for my liking.”

Blues head in to the game in sixth place but they are still sweating on the fitness of both winger Kevan Hurst and striker Barry Corr.

Hurst has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem while Corr was forced out of Saturday’s clash against Plymouth Argyle with a back injury.

And Brown does not yet know if they will be available for the clash at the Kassam Stadium.

“I would say Barry Corr has about a 75 per cent chance of being fit and Kevan Hurst is still 50/50,” said Brown.

“We obviously hope to have them back because they are important, experienced players but we won’t be take any risks.”

New signings Adam Barrett and Jake Cassidy have both gone straight in to the Shrimpers squad for the game while centre-back Luke Prosser is available again after completing a one match suspension.

Defender Mads Ibenfeldt misses out with a broken foot while Lee Barnard, who is still attracting interest from Stevenage, is again ruled out with an ankle injury while centre-back Cian Bolger is suspended.
