BLUES boss Phil Brown believes it is a “done deal” for Gary Deegan to remain at Roots Hall until the end of the season.
The midfielder’s short term contract has now expired with the Shrimpers.
But Brown is certain Deegan, who is suspended for Saturday's game at Portsmouth, will not be departing.
“Gary is a done deal now as far as I’m concerned,” confirmed Brown.
“We’re just waiting for the paper work to be signed off by his agent.
“It’s to do with his commission and is just one of the little things that need to be ticked off when you’re discussing a contract.
“It’s not quite there yet but we’ve agreed the deal with the player.”
