SOUTHEND'S Danny Scotland will be making a huge sacrifice in honour of his best friend Joe Emmons at UWC's latest fight night this weekend.

Scotland was best man at Emmons' first wedding, while Emmons was godfather to the 38-year-old's son before his death last November.

Scotland is therefore eager to impress in Emmons' memory on Saturday night when he takes on Tom Busby.

And Scotland will enter the ring wearing a pair of Emmons' shorts to the sound of West Ham's popular terrace chant I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, despite him being an Arsenal fan.

“Joe was my best mate and always came in to the cage for his own fights to I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles so that's what I'll be doing on Saturday,” said Scotland.

“Everyone knows I'm an Arsenal fan and my own song will kick in half way through the Bubbles one. “But this whole night is about remembering Joe and that's exactly what I'll be doing.

“However, I'll be making sure I win as well.”

Scotland will be facing his former TSG training partner Busby at Garon Park on Saturday night.

But he has no idea why the fight has been billed as a grudge match.

“Apparently it's a grudge match but it isn't really from my point of view,” said Scotland who has won all four of his previous fights.

“For some reason he went and said he wanted to fight me and I agreed to take it on.

“It's a bit of a miss-match in terms of style because he's more Muay Thai kickboxing and I'm more boxing and MMA but it should be good.”

And Scotland insists he could not have trained any harder for the fight. “ Training has been really intense and full on but it's got me in good shape,” said Scotland.

“Dan Burzotta has been great with me and I can't wait to get out there now.”
