SOUTHEND United’s chief executive Steve Kavanagh has urged Shrimpers’ supporters to purchase their tickets in advance of Saturday's match with Luton Town at Roots Hall.

A bumper crowd is expected as fourth placed Blues bid for a seventh straight win.

And Kavanagh therefore wants fans to snap up tickets as soon as they can to avoid long queues on the day of the game.

“Tickets in the home areas are still available but they are starting to be restricted by area and if sales continue at the same pace groups of more than two or three may not to be able to sit together,” said Kavanagh.

“Once Luton sell out their allocation which they are close to doing then we will only be able to sell to people who are known with a purchase history on our database.

“This will add to queues on a match day so please do buy early.”
