LUTON Town boss John Still leapt to the defence of goalkeeper Elliot Justham after his awful error gifted Southend United a 1-0 win at Roots Hall.

The former East Thurrock United goalkeeper somehow allowed a long range shot from Michael Timlin to trickle over the goal-line.

But Still refused to criticise the shot-stopper for the error.

“I feel for the goalkeeper because he’s come in this season and done really well,” said Still.

“However, sometimes games hinge on magic moments and mistakes and unfortunately this was down to a mistake.

“But there’s certainly no blame attached from me and I’m just disappointed because I don’t think we deserved that.”

Eighth placed Luton now seem unlikely to make the play-offs after they failed to see off the 10 man Shrimpers.

But Still felt Ben Coker did not deserve to get sent off.

“I didn’t agree with the red card decision,” he added.
