SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has brought his side back down to earth by insisting there is nothing for them to celebrate just yet.

Blues’ semi-final play-off victory against Stevenage at Roots Hall on Thursday sparked wild scenes among the players and supporters.

But Brown did not join in the party atmosphere and will only do so if the Shrimpers secure promotion by beating Wycombe Wanderers in the play-off final on Saturday.

“I’ve seen the pictures and they were great scenes after the game the other night but I didn’t celebrate because the job is only half done,” said the Blues boss.

“The players are back in for training today and I’m sure they will feel the same way now.

“There’s still one more very tough game for us to come against a very good Wycombe side and I’ll only start to celebrate if we win that one.”
