SOUTHEND United have already sold more than 16,000 tickets for Saturday’s play-off final against Wycombe Wanderers.

Tickets for the game are now on general sale.

And Blues boss Phil Brown is hoping for another huge following in what he feels will be one of the biggest games of his career.

“The level of importance is relative to the football club you’re at but for me this match is right up there with the biggest and most important I’ve ever had,” said Brown, who bossed Hull City in the Premier League.

“I know our supporters will back us again and they also have a big part to play.

“With that in mind, it would be great to see our end packed out when we run out and it would be great if we could have more of our fans there than Wycombe.”

Southend, who will be wearing an all yellow kit this weekend, are now back in training ahead of their clash with the Chairboys.

But Brown revealed the team were keen to make it just another normal week.

“A lot of the lads said they just wanted it to just a usual week,” said the Blues boss.

“I do understand that but it’s Wembley so of course it’s a bit special.

“We will be going to the ground on Friday to have a look around but the plan is to make it a normal game with something a bit more special on it.”
