JACKSON Wray believes Saracens’ big game experience could prove crucial when they face Bath in the Premiership final at Twickenham this afternoon.

The 24-year-old former King John School pupil will be part of the Saracens squad gunning for glory in front of around 80,000 fans.

But Wray, who played for Westcliff as a youngster, is confident Sarries can cope under pressure.

“We’ve had so many huge games in the last couple of years that we know how to prepare and deal with them now,” said Wray.

“We’ve played Racing Metro and Clermont in two massive matches already this year and we reached two finals last year too so we’re used to this kind of pressure and hopefully that can help us on Saturday.

“Bath are a very dangerous side and they’ve had a great season but if we can what we need to do in the right areas then we’re confident we can come out on top.”

Wray and his Saracens team-mates will also be desperate to triumph after suffering heartbreak in last season’s Premiership final when a try in the last minute of extra time saw them suffer a painful 24-20 defeat to Northampton Saints.

However, Wray believes that setback has actually helped Saracens push on this term.

“It was a horrible way to lose but we’ve grown together as a team since then,” said Wray.

“I think people thought we might find it hard to pick ourselves up from that but we have done and, although we’ve done it the hard way, we’ve made it through to another final which is a really good achievement.”

Saracens ended the regulation season sitting fourth in the standings, behind Bath in second.

However, Sarries made it through to the final with a brilliant 29-24 win at table-topping Northampton Saints last weekend.

And Wray is now ready for what he feels will be an intriguing.

“Everyone says that Bath have one of the best attacks and that we have one of the best defences so on paper it’s a really good match up,” said Wray.

“We’ve won one and lost one against them this season which suggests it will be close but will be doing all we can to get another win.”
