SOUTHEND United have activated year long clauses in the contracts of promising youngsters Jason Williams and Jack Bridge.
Striker Williams, 19, has already made four substitute appearances for the Shrimpers and impressed during a loan spell with Conference South side Chelmsford City last term.
Bridge also did well during a short stint with the Clarets and Blues boss Phil Brown is pleased the highly rated youngsters will be remaining at Roots Hall.
“We’ve activated a clause in their contracts and we’re looking forward to them continuing their development with us,” said Brown.
“They will both be playing in the under 21 team we’re starting up next season.”
