PROFESSIONAL Basildon golfer Daniel Brooks is hoping his clubs arrive before he tees off in Switzerland on Thursday.

Brooks, who hit a hole in one during the Open Championship on Saturday, headed to Crans Montana for the Omega European Masters after failing to make the cut at St Andrews.

But his clubs went astray on the EasyJet flight leaving him to hope they arrive before he starts the four-day tournament in the Alps.

Brooks tweeted: “First you lose my golf clubs. Then I fill out a form for where they to go to and you take them somewhere else. What’s going on?”

Brooks had requested his clubs be sent to Crans Montana, but it is believed they were sent to Gatwick Airport, nearly 500 miles away, instead.

The Basildon player hit the headlines at the weekend when he aced the 116-yard 11th on the Old Course at St Andrews.

It was the first hole in one at any Open since 2012 and the first during the Open Championship at St Andrews for 25 years.

Brooks finished joint 127th after two rounds with a five over total.

The Open was won by America’s Zach Johnson on Monday night following a play-off with Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen after they all finished on 15 under par.
