SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown heaped praise on his side after they dug deep to secure a 0-0 draw at Doncaster Rovers tonight.
The Shrimpers boss had been disappointed by Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Walsall.
And he was thrilled by the response at the Keepmoat Stadium.
“The mentality and work rate was back to what it needs to be,” said Brown.
“We could have had three points in the end as well but that final pass or bit of quality was just lacking in the final third.
“The best chance fell to Joe Pigott at the end there but he put it over.
“However, overall I’m pleased with how we played and we got better as the game went on.”
