SOUTHEND United midfielder Michael Timlin hopes his latest clash against his former Swindon Town side will be far more memorable than his last.

Timlin, who made 136 appearances in three separate spells with the Robins, lined up for Blues when they were beaten 4-1 by Town at Roots Hall in January 2012.

But the 30-year-old wants a far different outcome this time around.

“Saturday’s game is something that I’m looking forward to,” said Timlin.

“The last time I played against Swindon we had a heavy defeat against them.

“They went on to win League Two that season and we produced a very uncharacteristic performance that night. “However, players move clubs all the time and I just hope I get a good reception from their fans.”

Timlin looks certain to start against Swindon having been recalled to the starting line-up for Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw at Doncaster Rovers.

And the midfielder is desperate to secure the Shrimpers’ first win of the season.

“I’ll be working as hard as I can to try and get the win because we need to put on a good performance at home to get the three points we need,” Timlin added.
