THE PREVIEW: Canvey are in desperate need of a win as they look to kick-start their season, and this game may have come at the perfect time.

Enfield have also struggled at the start of term, accruing only three points so far.

However, whereas Canvey have only lost two of their games, Town have been beaten in four of their five games.

Canvey have lost twice to Grays in the past week, going down 2-0 to their Thurrock rivals on Wednesday night, after which manager Danny Heale promised he would be making changes to his squad.

A Jake Larkins, inset, error and a Glenn Poole own goal condemned them to defeat.

The Gulls were 2-1 victors in this game last season and manager Danny Heale would gladly accept a similar scoreline tomorrow.

WHAT HE SAYS: Canvey boss Heale, said: “It was a frustrating evening as we played well in the second-half but a crazy moment saw us go behind, straight after we had hit the bar and we were unable to come back from that.

“Grays’ manager (Former Southend United player Mark Bentley) said we were the best side they have played this season and we are all confident the results will come.

“We need a new goalkeeper, midfielder and striker and I am in the market for those, possibly before the weekend.”

“We play Enfield and Billericay over the Bank Holiday weekend and we desperately need something from those games.”
