THE PREVIEW: Billericay manager Craig Edwards declared his side had got off to “a bad start” following their 3-0 reverse to Canvey Island on Monday.

Town are now 18th, with only one win from seven games, and are in desperate need of points.

However, they head to one of the toughest grounds in the league in a bid to turn around their season. But Dulwich, perennially one of the favourites to challenge at the top, have also underachieved so far and sit in ninth place, six points off the pace.

Billericay lost this match 2-1 last season, although Edwards, a former manager at Dulwich, is confident that he is the right man to turn around Town’s season.

WHAT HE SAYS: Town manager Craig Edwards said: “I have said that we have got off to a poor start and that is disappointing as that was one thing I really wanted not to do this year. We have struggled at the start of the season in recent years and that is the case again this year so we just have to move past it.

“We always have cracking games at Dulwich. We have lost 2-1 there in the last few games but we always beat them at New Lodge so hopefully we can go there and turn around our form. I don’t often come away from a game having lost thinking what a good game it was, but I have at Dulwich so let’s hope that is the case tomorrow but with a different result.

“We got two bad results last weekend but if we get six points from Dulwich and Merstham (on Tuesday) then it was all be rosy again.“
