THE PREVIEW: Great Wakering Rovers arguably face their toughest test of the season when they host league favourites AFC Sudbury tomorrow.

Rovers have surprised many with their strong start, sitting seventh ahead of the weekend’s fixtures but they welcome a side who have scored 11 goals in two games against them last season.

But this is a different Rovers team to last season. Having taken a point at AFC Hornchurch on Monday, Dan Trenkel’s men will want to make amends for their FA Cup exit at home to Brnatham Athletic last weekend with a good showing against Sudbury.

WHAT HE SAYS: Boss Trenkel said: “ Last year we lost 5-1 and 6-1 to Sudbury and they were the only side that really took us apart.

“Luke Callander is a fantastic striker and in Craig Parker and Sam Clarke they have two midfielders who I would rank in the top five I've played against.

“Sudbury are big favourites not just for this game but for the league as well so it will be another good chance for our boys to perform against a table-topping outfit.”
