HULLBRIDGE Sports and Basildon United go head to head in the Essex Senior League tomorrow a week before they meet in a winner-takes-all FA Cup tie.

Both sides will have an eye on the cup match next Saturday, with the winners scooping £3,000 and a place in the second qualifying round, where sides from the National League South enter the fray.

But both Sports boss Rob Hodgson and Bees manager Craig Gillam will want to land a psychological blow ahead of that match, with victory in the league.

Hodgson will be forced into one change to the side that beat Maldon & Tiptree in the last round of the FA Cup, as right-back Kieren Offord isn't available.

Meanwhile, Bees will be without captain Taylor Sinfield, Grant Hayward and Connor Crosby, while Daniel Howett is a doubt. Justin Maynard and Jake Megran return for Gillam’s men.

“We want to continue with our current form in all completions as well as the league, doing it for one month means nothing,” said Hodgson.

“The lads were so up for last weekend's game, but it is my job now to make sure that continues in to our league games.

“We know what Basildon were about last season and they have started well, so I think both managers will learn something on Saturday before our massive FA Cup tie.”

Southend Manor will be looking to bounce back from their defeat in the cup last week, and record their first win of the season as well.

Manor travel to Waltham Forest, who are also looking for their first three points of term having lost three of their first four games.

Manor have drawn two and lost one of their first three games, and Wayne Seal faces a number of injury doubts.

Ross Casson, Reiss Meacham and Jason Warner are doubtful, while Tom Clayton and Stuart Paton are on holiday.

Seal has added Lee Scott from Barkingside.

Bowers & Pitsea do not play this weekend.
