THE PREVIEW: Great Wakering travel to Aveley aiming to return to winning ways in the league.

Rovers have struggled in the league in recent months and face a side who have had a positive start to the campaign.

Although mid-table, the Millers have a number of games in hand due, in part, to their FA Cup run which came to an end on Saturday.

They went down fighting to National League South side Havant & Waterlooville, and will be keen to return to winning ways on home turf.

WHAT HE SAID: Rovers boss Dan Trenkel said: “We were poor in the first-half against Bury but we really dominated in the second-half. We had a chance right at the start of the half but couldn’t quite take it and I am confident the team will start picking up results soon.

“Aveley are a very good side and I am glad we have the chance to get back out on the pitch tonight and put things right. Their manager (Justin Gardner) often downplays their chances to favour them as underdogs but they have some very talented players and I think it will be one of the toughest tests we face this season.

“They should be up near the play-offs come the end of the season.”
