THURROCK T-Birds triumphed 29-7 against Hove in Championship One South.

Kat Emerson put T’s in front with a fine try which was converted by Georgie Cook.

T-Birds received a further boost when a Hove prop forward was yellow carded and they immediately took advantage with Frank Jordan smashed over the line.

Hove struck back well and, after dominating the final 20 minutes of the first half, they scored a try from a five metre scrum to cut T-Birds’ lead to 12-7 at half-time.

After the break, T’s executed an efficient catch and drive for Clare Phelps to score in the corner.

After that, Hove’s pack began to falter and looked like they had decided to settle for a narrow as they slowed the game down at every possible opportunity.

But T’s raised the pace whenever possible and were soon rewarded with a try from Chloe Stopard-Baker.

And they added a bonus point try right at the death with Rachel French touching down Cook kicking the extras to complete a successful afternoon.
