THE PREVIEW: Concord Rangers have enjoyed a fine start to 2016, and will be confident of extending that run against bottom side St Albans City.

The Beach Boys have been much improved in recent weeks, culminating in a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Eastbourne Borough last weekend.

That win lifted Concord into 11th, while success this weekend could lift Adam Flanagan’s side into the top half of the league.

But St Albans will not be a pushover. Their home form is far better than that on their travels, and a victory tomorrow would lift them to within two points of safety.

The two have not met so far this season, although the Hertfordshire side won the corresponding fixture 2-0 last term.

WHAT HE SAYS: Beach Boys boss Adam Flanagan said: “We will just play the game tomorrow. If you look too much into the position then there is the danger that complacency could creep in which we can’t afford to happen. Similar to when we were losing, I imagine St Albans are low in confidence but our season kicked off with one good win and they will be looking at us and thinking the same. We must make sure that we don’t let this happen.

“I am expecting it to be a tough game. With 15 games to go St Albans need to be picking up wins to push them away from where they are in the league and similarly we need to be picking up wins so that we don’t get dragged back into it. As in most games the team that makes the fewest mistakes will stand the best chance of winning.

“For me I am intrigued to see how the season ends as I think we are a good side and should finish the season strongly. It’s up to the players to show me if my assessment of them is right or not. We also have a big semi-final coming up so players need to be putting performances in so that they stake a claim to be playing in this game.
