WORLD Snooker champion Stuart Bingham is hoping to become the Shoot-Out king this weekend.

Bingham takes part in the Coral Shoot-Out in Reading hoping to go one better than two years ago when he lost in the final.

The Shoot-Out is snooker’s quick-fire version of the game.

Each match is a single frame lasting a maximum of 10 minutes, with a shot clock of 15 seconds for the first five minutes and 10 seconds after that.

Bingham, from Vange, faces Ricky Walden in the first round tonight and he’s looking forward to it.

“This tournament is a bit different,” he said. “It’s a bit of fun. You can interact with the crowd and have a bit of a laugh, so you can’t really take it too seriously until the quarter final stage.

“I’ve got to the final before, so I think it’s a format that suits my game though.

“You can easily go out in the first round, but you could also go on a good run, so it’s all just preparation for the Welsh Open on Monday.”
