LEIGH-on-Sea Striders had 47 members complete the Brentwood Half Marathon in the spring sunshine on Sunday.

Matibini Matibini was the first Strider home, ninth overall and first male vet in a time of 1 hour 14 minutes and 55 seconds, while Stephanie Simpson was the first female back for Leigh in 1.33.11.

There were also a few personal bests among the Striders, including Chris McClay who finished second for LoSS.

Others were using the race as part of their marathon training and for some it was their first half marathon - including Julia Summers who, paced by husband Darren, completed the course in an impressive 2.01.19.
