ESSEX Eagles have decided against bringing in an overseas replacement for the second-half of their T20 Blast campaign.
After Adam Milne was ruled out of his upcoming spell at the Essex County Ground because of injury, head coach Chris Silverwood was understood to be looking for a replacement.
But he has now opted against that, instead choosing to blood some of the club’s academy’s promising youngsters, with Callum Taylor and Aaron Beard impressing in the early stages of the season.
“Although it is disappointing Milne can’t join us for his upcoming spell, we are looking forward to seeing how the young players go when given an opportunity,” said Silverwood.
“As a club we are renowned for investing in youth and we will continue to do so to improve their experiences over the remaining matches of the campaign. Giving them opportunities now will only help them in the future.”
