SOUTHEND United have held talks with centre-back Nathaniel Knight-Percival.

The defender has been with Shrewsbury Town for the past two seasons.

And he is now on the radar of Blues boss Phil Brown, despite the Shrimpers not being favourites to sign him.

“I’ve met with Nathaniel for talks,” confirmed Brown.

“He’s one I will look to chase things up with if possible when I get back from a short break.”

Chesterfield are also believed to be interested in the 29-year-old who scored the winner for the Shrews at Roots Hall last September.

The defender has previously played for Histon, Wrexham and Peterborough United.
