RUNDOWN: Billericay Town have struggled in the past week with defeats to both Staines and Lowestoft while Bognor Regis have started showing signs of life after a slow start.
Craig Edwards’ side had started well after another summer exodus, with the young group he had assembled clicking in the opening matches.
But narrow defeats have put increased emphasis on this Bank Holiday weekend, with a trip to Tonbridge Angels on Monday.
Bognor were one of the front-runners for promotion after narrowly missing out last season but they have failed to impress in the opening weeks, with their first win in four coming in midweek.
MANAGER’S VIEW: Billericay manager Craig Edwards said: “It was an awful game I thought against Lowestoft. We got a foothold in the game and we were much better in the second half of the first-half.
“We didn’t defend the goal well and they defended their lead well. We were edgy and impatient and it was food and drink for their defenders. We ended well and could have got a point. They were a bit cleverer than us and it was invaluable.
“We need it to be a lesson learned for the Bognor game. The one plus was we were very good defensively. We have a bad record against Bognor and Tonbridge will be hard so it will be a tough weekend.”
BETTING: Billericay 1/1, Bognor Regis 21/10
TEAM NEWS: Kreshnic Krasniqi is suspended for Billericay.
