SOUTHEND Saxons will be looking to condemn National Three London & SE leaders Wimbledon to their first defeat of the season tomorrow.

Wimbledon currently top the table after winning all three of their matches so far this term, scoring more than 100 points in the process.

But Southend centre Tyron Ngaluafe is keen to build on last weekend’s 40-19 win against Amersham & Chiltern, which saw him score his first two tries for the club.

“It felt good getting my hands on the ball at the weekend and scoring two tries was a bonus for our team,” said the centre, who lined up for Ponsonby in Auckland last season.

“But credit needs to go to our forward pack for setting up good go-forward ball for the backs to play with.

“Hopefully we can build on it now because my hope for the team this season is to make at least the play-offs and win the championship of the division to get back up into a higher league.”

Southend - who are seeking a third straight win - could also be boosted by the return of influential fly-half Brad Burr, who has yet to feature so far this season.
